Reverence for Life is:
ACCEPTING OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL LIFE ON EARTH.
We humans are not ‘separate from Nature’ but as much part of Nature on this Earth as all other living creatures. However, along with the development of our consciousness, our abilities and our technical inventiveness come responsibilities which we ignore at our peril.
The extraordinary success of our species in terms of numbers and exploitation of resources for our purposes has resulted in a situation in which neglect of action to mitigate our impact becomes suicidal recklessness.
Managing the trail of pollution left behind by our 'developed' lifestyles and the deterioration and destruction of habitats of millions of other creatures essential to the natural balance of life on earth has become an existential necessity.
Thankfully, a groundswell of individual initiatives are attempting to respond to these challenges and public opinion is beginning to recognise these responsibilities:
