The Day care centre is run by Joyce and her team of teaching assistants . They are all volunteers and offer the children a start in life to help prepare them for when school life starts in earnest at the age of 6 years.

Due to the generosity of the Dame Bradbury School in particular, RfL UK were able to send several shipments of school equipment, books and toys suitable for young children out to Tanzania. We were also able to send many boxes of uniform which were greeted with great excitement.

We have been visiting the Children here on every visit and then in 2018 , Joyce had to move the Children to another location as the building was due to be knocked down and redeveloped. Due to funding challenges at the time, Joyce was not able to choose as large a school premises as she would have liked .

In September 2019, we visited Joyce in her new location and it very quickly became clear that the school was much too small for the 70 plus children that were coming to her everyday. It also appeared to be a potentially dangerous location on the edge of what would become a large and fast flowing river in the rainy season .
