RfL sees it as an inescapable responsibility, to make an assessment of the implications of introducing innovations in technology, both in the mechanical and the digital arenas, and to ensure the application of the precautionary principle both vis a vis human and all other forms of life.
This September, the first ‘Scroll Free month’ has been widely reported. Aimed at reducing our dependency and addiction to the whirlwind of social media, we are encouraged to go cold turkey and just switch off! This is hard going - maybe just try turning the phone and the iPad off an hour earlier each day for the next week and see what happens. Let us know your stories so we can share the experiences.
