Reverence for Life week - Day 1

With close to a quarter of the human population currently living in mega-cities (10 m +) and over half of us living in urban environments, and these figures predicted to increase further in the coming decades, ways must be found to allow urban life to resonate more deeply with natural ways of living, if the recognition that we humans are indeed part of nature is to translate into real life.

Therefore, Reverence for Life today means:

- Being able to fill your lungs with clean, fresh air in the morning, laced with the scent of roses, even in the city.

- Reducing noise pollution of the air and opening your ears to birdsong in the morning, even in the city.

- Greening our open spaces to allow the reciprocal breath of plants and humans to function to their mutual benefit, even in the city.

- designing our buildings using dimensions which resonate with nature’s laws of harmony and proportion, especially in the city.

That is why we must transform our cities into havens of tranquillity and beauty and provide them with clean and healthy environments for the well-being of all.
