Sponsorship
Reverence for Life UK has sponsored some of VALITA’s volunteers.
Eva, Rachel and Frank
We funded their places on a two week course to learn a variety of traditional crafts skills and also to develop their knowledge about how to set up and run their own craft skills workshops for VALITA.
Frank and Paul
Frank and Paul are integral members of VALITA, they manage the land and run the farm. We funded their place on a permaculture course at the Practical Permaculture Institute in Zanzibar in January 2021.
Telesphory
We first met Telesphory in 2016. He wanted to train to be a doctor and help VALITA to care for the medical needs of the residents of Kaya and the sick people in their outreach programme in Dar es Salaam. We funded his place at medical school and in 2019 he qualified as a doctor.
Annamaria
We met Annamaria in 2019. She wanted to train to make batik textiles and then use her skills to make clothing and help VALITA by running batik workshops to teach people in their outreach programme. We funded her place on the batik course and she qualified in 2020.
Emmanuel
VALITA helped to care for Emmanuel after he lost his arm and leg in a motorbike accident. After his long recovery, he decided he wanted to start a clothing stall, but he had no money with which to start his business. Reverence for Life UK provided him with a start-up grant and gave him clothes to stock his shop.
